Fiction or Nonfiction Queries
Email your query letter and first chapter to the agent you think would be most interested. If applicable, introductory material (epigraph, foreword, prologue, etc.) may also be included. Place everything in the body of the email. No attachments, please.
If you’re not sure which agent might be best for your project, feel free to try us all by submitting this query form or emailing your query to submissions@wordlink.us.
If an agent is closed to queries, please respect their status. Send your query using the query form thru the submissions mailbox.
Put the title of your work in the subject line.
Be sure to include approximate word count.
Your fiction manuscript or nonfiction proposal should be complete and available upon request.
We do our best to respond to all queries, but due to the large number we receive, it’s not always possible. If you don’t hear from us within six weeks, the query has been rejected.
If interested, we will request to see more of your work.
Manuscript Requests
Send full or partial manuscripts only when requested to do so by a WordLink agent in response to your query.
Be absolutely sure your writing is the best it can be.
Send as a Word doc or docx, not a PDF.
Format your manuscript properly. If necessary, consult online resources. We’re not overly strict about minor details, but we do expect manuscripts to generally align with industry standards.
Film or Television Queries
Email your query to Dean Krystek.
In the subject line, include the project name and whether it is a theatrical / television film or series.
In the body, provide a brief synopsis of the project, genre, source material (published book, unpublished manuscript, original story, etc.), and whether you have an agent for the source material. If the source material has been published, you must have film rights to the work, or the publisher must agree to let WordLink represent the film rights.
Also indicate if you have an available treatment (theatrical / television film) or bible (television series).
Rights Inquiries
Put the title of the work, author, and "rights query" in the subject line. Send it to Dean Krystek.
Clearly state the rights in which you are interested, the publisher/producer you represent, and your telephone/email contact details.
General Inquiries
Identify the nature of your email in the subject line (question, request, comment, interview, etc.) and send to the most appropriate agent.
We endeavor to answer all emails promptly (although query letters can take longer to be properly considered). However, please be advised that certain emails are deleted automatically and will not be responded to. These include:
